Hiring: Wholesale Manager

Location: Edinburgh, Scotland

Since we began in 2017 we have developed relationships with friends and customers around the world, who enjoy brewing our coffees and share our values for clean and expressive coffee.

As we look to expand and grow our partnerships, we are looking for a dynamic, results driven Wholesale Manager to join our team. It’s important that candidates fit the criteria outlined below, and share the values we talk about above.

About the Role

The Wholesale Manager is responsible for maintaining and strengthening relationships with our partners in Edinburgh and across Scotland.

This role supports the day-to-day needs of existing accounts, while also building long-term strategies and activations to advance our partnerships.

As an integral member of a small, high-performing sales team, you will contribute to delivering business-wide objectives and projects. You will be highly visible and proactive in the field, serving as the first point of contact for partners and representing our brand with professionalism and integrity.

Customer relationship growth will be at the heart of this role. 

Key Responsibilities

Wholesale Management

  • Maintain and grow key account relationships throughout Scotland.
  • Build trusted, collaborative relationships with partners’ wider teams to provide accurate, constructive feedback.
  • Act as an ever-present, approachable contact in customer-facing settings.
  • Uphold Obadiah’s high standards of quality across all wholesale partnerships.
  • Identify opportunities for collaboration, development and shared growth.
  • Proactively provide creative solutions to current and potential challenges.
  • Deliver a confident, knowledgeable understanding of each coffee in our offering.

Training

  • Develop and deliver engaging training programs using Obadiah’s existing tools and materials.
  • Provide purchasing advice on coffees and equipment and offer brewing and recipe insights.
  • Support partners in building knowledge and confidence in our offering.

Sales Performance

  • Generate leads and sales for guest features and new wholesale opportunities.
  • Contribute to monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets.
  • Escalating leads and collaborating with the sales team. 
  • Support the Head of Sales and Director across all stages of the sales process.

Promotion

  • Travel domestically and internationally to meet customers and strengthen relationships.
  • Attend key trade events and networking opportunities to build new business and enhance our market presence.
  • Assist in the creation of collaborative events (e.g. bar takeovers, cuppings) to strengthen relationships with both new and long-standing customers.
  • Act as an ambassador for our brand - representing our ethos, values, and vision in a professional manner.
  • Understand the importance of being involved in a competitive industry and respecting the nature of being an advocate for the brand. 

Qualifications

  • Knowledge and understanding of the coffee industry.
  • Strong customer relationship building skills.
  • At least 1 years’ experience in sales or customer relations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in all forms.
  • Willingness and desire to undertake any required training and development.
  • Confident in public-speaking and presentation skills.
