Dedicated local farmers.

A naturally processed lot from the Banko Gotiti wet mill, overseen by Alum Bukato.

This coffee was cultivated and harvested by 650 local farmers, who brought their cherries to the mill for processing.

Banko Gotiti has earned a strong reputation for its consistent excellence, season after season, delivering some of the highest-scoring Ethiopian coffees.

The Producer

The status of Yirgacheffe coffees is attributed to a combination of factors: high altitude, reaching up to 2,200 meters in some areas, fertile soil, consistent rainfall, and the wealth of local expertise.

The indigenous heirloom varietals, which grow naturally in Ethiopia, are key to the unique flavour profile that defines this coffee, resulting in a cup that is both distinctive and refined.

Ripe cherries are washed and then pulped to remove the majority of skin and fruit from the bean before its fermented.

Fermentation is brief and helps to remove any remaining material from the pulping process as well as adding complexity to the coffee.

The coffee is then washed and sun-dried, mechanically dried, or a combination of the two until the desired moisture level is reached.
