Kibingo, Burundi

For September, we’re excited to share a seasonal highlight from the farmers around Kibingo.

This lot moves away from the region’s traditional washed style, using a yeast-inoculated washed process to bring out a clear and expressive taste of Burundi’s highland terroir.

At Kibingo, cherries are pulped within six hours of delivery, then fermented for 96 hours with the LALCAFÉ CIMA yeast strain. This method brings clarity, structure and sweetness to the cup.

The result is a red bourbon with a soft texture and notes of rich dried fruits, a true reflection of the care and commitment of the Kayanza farmers.

How it works.

Each month we make one of our seasonal subscription lots available in 1kg, 2kg or 5kg portions, to be delivered and enjoyed either monthly or bi-monthly.

This subscription is well suited for workplace offices or keen coffee brewers who drink a larger volume of coffee.
