Solasta
Our refreshed subscription takes its name from the Scots Gaelic word Solasta, meaning bright and shining. It reflects the character of the coffees we highlight each month.
Coffee 1 – Ngila, Tanzania
The first coffee we share through Solasta is something we’ve kept just for our subscribers.
It comes from Ngila Estate in northern Tanzania, a farm that has been growing coffee since the 1920s and is now cared for by the Meyer family.
This coffee underwent a red honey process on the farm, fermenting in wooden boxes over four days. In the cup, notes of red fruits and a juicy character are revealed.
Coffee 2 – Musozi, Rwanda
The second coffee featured is a standout lot from Musozi in Rwanda. This natural process coffee reveals notes of blueberry and dried fruits, with a creamy finish.
Founded in 2015 by Rutaganda Gaston and Mukantwaza Laetitia, Rwamatamu Coffee is a family-run farm and washing station in Kiyube.
In 2023, they invested in a dedicated cupping lab to strengthen quality control and further refine their approach to flavour.
